Which night is elegant night on Carnival? ›

The first Cruise Elegant evening is scheduled for the 2nd or 3rd day of the cruise; the second Cruise Elegant evening is scheduled for the 2nd or 3rd day prior to the end of the cruise, schedules permitting.

7 Night Cruises - Usually on Day 2 and 6. 8 - 10 Night Cruises - 2 Formal Nights, Days vary by ship and sailing. 11 - 14 Night Cruises - 3 Formal Nights, Days vary by ship and sailing. 15+ Night Cruises - 3 or 4 Formal Nights, Days and number vary by ship and sailing.

For 3-day, 4-day, and 5-day cruises, there will be just one formal night. Anything more than that, including the popular 6-day, 7-day, and 8-day cruises, will have 2 formal nights scheduled.

Please no tracksuit trowsers, basketball shorts, flip-flops, bathing clothes or cut-off jeans. Gentlemen: elegant dress pants, shirts, sports jackets as well as suits, ties and tuxedos. Ladies: co*cktail dresses, pantsuits, elegant skirts, blouses and evening gowns.

While Carnival does not have a midnight buffet, there are lots of late night and even around the clock options in lieu of a midnight buffet on Carnival. Stop by the Pizzeria at Lido's Marketplace to satisfy your late night cravings with pizza and ice cream served 24 hours a day.

The rule of thumb is that a week-long cruise will have two formal nights during the trip (i.e. Day 2 and Day 5). Shorter trips normally have one. It may be that if you are on a very short cruise (e.g. three days), there might not even be one formal night.

Formal nights on a cruise are not mandatory and it is almost always possible to skip formal night if you don't want to attend. Skipping formal night may mean dining in a different restaurant, the buffet, or having room service delivered.

On formal nights, proper attire includes tuxedos, suits or slacks (jackets required) for men and evening gowns, co*cktail dresses or dressy pantsuits for women. Jeans are welcome in all dining venues during the day, but they're not appropriate in any public venues for dinner or co*cktail hour.

Bottom Line: As a rough guide, for a 7-night cruise you will need to bring enough clothing for at least 4 formal or semi-formal nights, a couple of casual evenings, pool and loungewear, and practical clothing for excursions on dry land.

How strict is Royal Caribbean dress code? ›

There can be 1 to 4 formal nights during a sailing and is at the ship's discretion. Our Chef's Table dining experience also enforces a formal dress code policy. Bare feet are not allowed at any time in any venue and tank tops are not permitted in the Main Dining Room or Specialty Dining venues for dinner.

It will cost you $61,000 for an interior state room, all the way up to $112,000 for a junior suite. The cruise will sail from Dec. 10, 2023, to Sept. 10, 2024.

Carnival Paradise Dress Code

The recommended Cruise Casual dress code for dinner is khakis, jeans and collared shirts for men; or summer dresses, capris and nice blouses for women. There is one formal night on shorter voyages (two to five nights) and two on cruises of six or more nights.

Several years ago, Carnival Cruise Line dropped the broiled lobster tail from its menus entirely on sailings of five nights or less, reserving it as a specialty for longer cruises. On shorter sailings, guests have been treated to lobster bisque instead.

10, 11, and 12 day cruises include three formal nights and three smart casual nights, all other nights are casual. 14 and 15 day cruises include three formal nights and four smart casual nights. All other nights are casual. Again, these are guidelines and your evenings attire is left up to your discretion.

Not permitted in the dining room during the Cruise Elegant dinner for ladies and gentlemen: shorts, gym shorts, T-shirts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, jeans, cut-off jeans, sleeveless shirts for men, sportswear, and baseball hats.

T-shirts, swimsuits, robes, bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps, and pool wear are not allowed in the main restaurant or specialty restaurants at any time. In addition, shorts and flip-flops are not permitted during the evening hours.

For dinner, you'll want to dress it up even more, as the line has a smart-casual dress code at night in most restaurants, including the main dining room. Anything from unripped jeans to dress pants with nice blouses or button-downs is acceptable.

Dining Cutbacks

Effective as of August 1, 2022, Carnival is cutting back on a wide range of dining services, venues, and operating times. These cutbacks are not as extreme as they may at first seem, however. Carnival cruise ships will no longer have a 24-hour pizzeria.

Although guests may access the terminal at 10:30 am, based on their window selection, boarding is scheduled to begin at approximately 12:30 am.

Collared shirts, slacks, and dress shirts are typical options for men on formal night. The most “casual” yet acceptable outfit for men on formal night is a polo shirt and slacks. A dress shirt and slacks is the most common option. Suit jackets and ties are not required, although many guests will choose to wear them.

We recommend a dress or nice blouse with slacks for women and khakis with a polo or a short-sleeve button-down shirt for men. But check your cruise line's dress code -- many allow jeans on casual night.

Flip flops and boat shoes are great daytime options for warm-weather cruises, but flip flops aren't allowed in the main dining room or specialty restaurants for dinner. Also, avoid wearing heeled sandals on the pool deck.

Women: One or two dressy outfits – dressy pants and blouse, co*cktail dress. Some women still wear long formal dresses but not as often. Men: One sport coat or dark jacket, 2 ties, 1 or 2 collared shirts.

Why don t cruise workers get days off? That mostly comes down to cabin space. Cabin space is at a premium. If crew were to have days off you would still need other crew to cover those responsibilities – this means more crew onboard taking up more cabin space.

Sometimes, overnights will occur during the middle of a cruise. Other times, overnight stays are offered at a cruise's embarkation port just after you board, or at a ship's last port before you disembark the following day.

Can you eat whenever you want on a cruise? For the most part, food is available around the clock on most ships. Even in the middle of the night, you can order room service (for a fee) or pick up free late-night nibbles at the buffet or from the 24-hour pizza shops found on many vessels.

The nicest and most expensive cabins on any ship are generally on the highest decks. That typically means just below the pool deck. However, the pool deck is often the loudest during the day (and often well into the night).

Aft: Consider staying in the aft part of the ship where you'll be nearest to casual dining. Lower deck: The lower deck is the best deck on a cruise ship if you want to be one of the first off the ship, exploring all the fun at each port of call.

How many drinks can you have per day on Carnival? ›

Sodas and other applicable non-alcoholic beverages remain unlimited and will not be counted toward the 15 alcoholic beverages limit, and all other policies and procedures remain the same. Guests are expected to enjoy alcohol responsibly and staff members are trained not to serve guests who appear to be intoxicated.
